Assistance

The North Louisiana Jewish Federation provides financial assistance to local individuals and families in urgent need of financial assistance.

Assistance is provided to individuals who are Jewish. To be considered Jewish, individuals must have at least one Jewish parent or have gone through a conversion process that would be recognized or confirmed by one of our local Rabbis.

Funds are not given directly to an individual. Instead, the individual submits a bill he or she has received, and the Federation writes a check for that amount directly to the utility or other business.

This program transforms the lives of our clients with dignity while promoting self-sufficiency. Designed to maintain our clients’ quality of life during difficult times, assistance can be provided for housing, utilities, childcare, medical needs or other emergency expenses on a case by case basis.

For seniors in the Shreveport area needing support services, we partner with Home Instead to provide in-home senior care services on a sliding scale.

For more information on any of the above services, or to request an application, please call 318-868-1200 or email assistance@jewishnla.org
